Losing log in on the forum

Anyone else having problems with the forum site losing your log-in info each time you get on? Lately the "remember me" function is working worth a damn. I have to log in each time I get on.

You might have computer setting issues.Everytime you delete cookies all the pass word info dissappears.Hopefully the computer pro's will jump in.

Yes, the log in Remember Me is cookie driven.

...and it still is working fine.

Have you changed or updated your web browser program? ...or your protection software? (AV or AMW)?

First step is to clear Temp or Cache files and to check cookie settings

It happens sometimes to me even if I have not run my computer cleaner program (CC Cleaner) which is once a month. I always have to log back into everything after that because it deletes all of the cookies.

It usually only happens once or twice a year though. Probably after an automatic Windows update.

that always happens to me, when i jump from forum to classifieds or even posting.
unless i check the remember me box at login, i'm screwed.
and yes i have cookies enabled, yes i have the latest flash player, i even allowed pop ups...been 3 years of this

Your problem is a browser related issue that can be induced by any one of a number of ways you may use to delete / manage your browser cookies.

The actual cookie deletion process has to be initiated by the user or a software product on your machine that is written to manage/delete browser cookies.

My login has not been lost since I joined in 2006.

This is the only forum of 5 or 6 that I frequent that I'm having this problem with. But, it may be my old laptop. Yes, cookies are enabled and I keep McAfee running all the time on my att.net account.

appreciate your input, really i do, but unless i leave my computer wide open as far as security, this is the way it is no matter how i manage my cookies. i have tried various settings and 3rd party cookie management and CC seems to be this way because of the various google and viglink subscriptions. i hide my ip partially because of sensitive material on my pc so vladimir in the ukraine doesn't get access. i'm not a new to a computer nor the inner workings of cookie mng't. likewise at least 50% of the month the site is bogged down with server issues that it is almost impossible to get the site to open...again, it's CC not my cookies. CC is the only site i use with these issues i experience.
it just means i go here less....

i belong to at least a dozen forums and have many login usernames for vendors, customers, banking..etc and CC is the only problem child. so obviously its CC that is the issue and i'm not changing to suit a car forum.

as i see i'm not the only person with this issue, it hurts only people selling things in the classified, if i click their ad after i have already signed in and i'm asked to sign in again....usually i have lost my patience and i just forget it.....if they have their email listed i email...if not we'll its their loss.

I always have had this problem, too, on this forum. Why should I have to sign in again if I've just looked at an ad on the forum? That makes no sense, especially when I haven't cleared cookies in between.

Guess I should start opening a new tab every time I want to look at an ad or other link.

DanEC 09-16-2013 05:11 AM

Now - for the last 36 hours or so, it seems to be back to working normally and keeping me signed in. I guess in my case it was some short-term issue or maybe there was a forum problem affecting some computers.

I kept losing the login as well. Seems to be ok now. Also, the previous threads are missing. You click on the "More" button and it gooes to anadverisement, but no past threads. why?
