engine won't start no coil spark

I burned up my coil and replaced it. the coil is good but I can't get a spark in it. I hooked up a line from my battery to the positive side and cranked it. good spark and engine kicks over. I am running Edelbrock pro flo 2 EFI with MSD parts. Looks like all fuses are good. Any Ideas:eek:

Control box may be fried.

What distributor is being used, what ignition box?

Dwight 09-15-2013 09:08 PM

some of the things we have learned about burn up coil, MSD boxes, magnetic pickups

oil filled coil need to be mounted vertical

bad alternators can burn up coils, pickups, MSD boxes

MSD will rebuild a box for less than $80, most of the time.

Interesting.... Was it the Start Inhibit relay that went bad?
