NEED TOP PROFESSIONAL re: 5.0 Ford Motors.
Gentlemen, I am needing a top notch professional on 5.0 Ford motors.
I started a thread which ran and had numerous suggestions and all were good ones....except we had already tried them all and NO CHANGE!! So I pose this request: Does anyone know of someone who has worked on and knows backwards and forwards....the 5.0 motors? I need to speak with him and see what, if anything, we are missing. Problem: Car runs great except for IDLE. I want it at 1k and it hovers there and then back to 850, 900, etc. thanks to all of you for your previous help. fred z:confused::eek: |
You need an expert on your Mass-Flo injection, not a 302 builder. Search in those areas.

Fred. What are you running for an ECM? Is it a stock A9L? 850 sounds fairly close
to stock for that box. Unless you have a programmable ECM, you won't be able to change idle speed. The ECM will return to it's default memory. I've got a mass-flow with a speedbrain ECM (obsolete). I have had some erratic idle once in a while. I use MAF sensor spray and wipe the throttle bores and butterflies with carb cleaner, making sure the transition slots are clean. They do collect crud periodically. If they crud up enough the car will start and run a couple secs then die...a real head scratcher the first time that happened! Mike Mike |
