Another Question ERA 289 FIA parts

As I put my parts list together for ERA can you kindly direct me to other threads or share experience concerning what parts are best to get from ERA and what are available from third parties at a better price? For example, 6 pin hubs for front end. i I intend to get their complete rear end assembly so that area is covered. Thanks.

Get as much as you can from ERA. You may pay a bit more but they will all be high quality, they all will work flawlessly, and ERA will stand behind them.

They make parts to fit their cars, as suggested use them where you can. Items like 6 pin hubs are hard to find these days and expensive. They are really expensive if they don't fit and you have to buy them twice.

I've bought a few odds and ends from suppliers outside ERA (including a few from Mickmate who is highly recommended - still looking for those street car fan assemblies to become available Nick) such as expansion tank, windshield washer bottle, street roadster gas cap, some engine/transmission components, wheels (from Bob at Vintage Wheels who is also highly recommended), mufflers, and shifter for example. But for the most part I ordered the major options from ERA. Most of the options will come pre-fitted on your car so you know they will fit and work and they are of high quality. I ordered some of the more expensive options like side curtains, fabric top, etc, separate from the car in case I have to supply my ERA invoice to the State for tax purposes at registration.

In qualification - I'm building my own car including painting so I will be responsible for fitting some of these items (side curtains and top as examples). If I was ordering a turn-key car from them then it makes sense to order all options at the time of purchase so that they are properly fitted prior to painting and installed at the time of delivery.

Enjoy the experience. ERA has a great car.
