Transmission Question
What is the suggested and best bang for the buck transmission for an engine with about 500hp/500tq. Going for more hp but have a T-5 rated at around 350.
As usual, any and all suggestions will be appreciated. |
Tremec TK0 600 5 spd is good for 600 hp/ 600 ft lb of torque...

For a street car, I'd use a T-56 Magnum 6 speed.
For a track car, I'd use a TKO-600 RR |
TKO 600 all the way.

the 500 and 600 have different first gear ratios, that is why I picked the 600.
500 is 3.27 600 is 2.97 Dwight |
well Dwight, your old tko 500 is perfectly happy at Bullet Bob's house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And when Bob let me drive it at Columbus I thought it shifted much better than the tko 600s I've driven |

TKO600 all the way. Good for 600hp, I love mine and have not had any problems with it. |
