If you don't find someone in the Daytona area, I would just pay to fly out one of the KMS team, along with his tools, to do it. I saw a vid of one of them doing a repair at a Cobra get together a few years ago and it was almost like magic. It would be cheaper for them to come to you rather than sending your car to them. And Daytona's a particularly nice town when you're half snow-blind.;)

Makes it look easy, doesn't he? I may have to look around for an old desk chair to add to my garage furniture.

As another option I wonder how Paintless Dent repair works on aluminum. That might be an option if it's just a pushed in dent and hasn't crimped the panel. However, it can be hard to find one of those guys who is willing to try it on anything other than modern, high-strength body panels.

But they're in New Hampshire.%/

LMH 10-26-2013 05:43 PM

Wouldn't that be closer than Utah though?

That's a 22 hour drive -- each way.:( If he's going to pay to transport it up there, then pay to transport it back down, it's going to end up being cheaper to just do what I first suggested.

Depending on the amount of damage, I agree with Patrick, but the Boys are busy in Provo.

That being said, how hard can it be to find a shop that deals with arruminum with so many high end arruminum cars, especially down in Miami. Who does the Audis, Rovers, Jags, etc?

CobraDan 10-27-2013 02:50 AM

Well if Rollinggeorge who started this thread got back on line he would find out that motorhead who also owns a Kirkham & lives in Florida could help him.

Aluminium Rovers???

As for the Audis and Jags, they probably just bolt on new panels.

Thanks guys for the input. Tom Kirkham suggested calling the local Ferrari dealer who has recommended a certified aluminum body shop. With any luck they will be the one as they are within driving distance. :MECOOL:

Tom didn't offer to send a craftsman to FL...which had crossed my mind.

I'll check out Motorheads recommendation as well. :MECOOL:
