Engine transport

I will need to transport a crated engine from KY to NoCal, insured, liftgate service on both ends. What have people paid for similar jobs, and is there someone you can recommend who is good and price competitive?

Thanks. Can you PM me with cost range?

your looking for door to door, so where exactly it's going will determine pricing.

you'll need weight , and dimensions of the crate to get an exact price, and of course the two addresses

Just looking for ballpark at this point. Am I talking $500 or $1200?

i would say the 500+ range it looks like they don't have a depot in KY. at least it doesn't show one on their site. i would call, click the link i posted, they are very nice and pro-customer service. usually have hubs at major airports.

You can save some money by having the crate delivered to their distribution building with a dock so you can have it loaded in your truck and you drive it away- if they have one in your area. They will usually load it in your truck/trailer for free once the freight charges are paid. I did this with my chassis/body crate and it saved me a couple hundred bucks over home delivery with a liftgate.

Last time we did a similar run it was 650 to the freight co.

Dont forget to insure it for your correct value ( which will add a small fee to the deal ) one time a engine builder in Livonia ( who shall remain nameless, and still owes me $$$ ) misaddressed a inbound customer motor , and then forgot to insure it. -- guess what it tumbled down the interstate at some point....
