rpatton3 passed away

Russell Patton passed way Thursday Morning. I don't have any details except that it was unexpected. I only met him once, but found him to be an upstanding guy. Wish he could have had many more years with his Backdraft.

That is terrible news. I thought I just saw posts from him earlier today or yesterday the latest.
A nice man who asked me several questions by PM and appreciated any help I could supply.
My sincere and saddest wishes to his family.

That is terrible. In my short participation on this forum, I saw how active he has been - asking questions and contributing. I found him inspirational and humbling as I believe he was in a wheelchair, in his 60s and living the dream of being a Cobra driver. God bless and condolences to his family.

Yes, he was asking about a jack just a couple of days ago.

That's a real shame.:(

I'm shocked and sorry to hear that. I had several PM exchanges with him last week on some questions about lead hammers, jacks and wheel well undercoating. Seemed like a nice guy.

This is shocking. Russell was a wonder to know. Never got to meet him in person but he made quite an impression through years of phone calls and emails. Please let us know details/arrangements.

He was Craighead County Treasurer in Arkansas from 1989 to 2008. Our local paper did a front page story on him today, but didn't mention the cause of death.

And willing to be of help, also. We had a few PM exchanges regarding clutch adaptations for people who could not use a pedal system. He was very knowledgable and IIRC said he had served on a commission (don't know if it was state or not...been a long time) for individuals with handicaps.

His wife would drive him about...no way for him to operate the clutch...:(

He sure enjoyed the friends he had made on the forum, though, mentioned it a few times. I'll join in and extend my sincere sympathies to those who knew and loved him...he was a gracious gentleman and will be sorely missed...

Cheers to Russell!!

RIP Russell, sad news indeed. Sincerest condolences to his missus. He got great enjoyment from his Cobra even from the passengers side. I'm so glad they had that to enjoy to the end.

RIP Russell. I've only been on here a short while and he made myself and many others feel welcome.

As a fellow Backdraft owner, I enjoyed reading the posts of Russell Patton III. After learning about his life and accomplishments, which are an inspiration, I feel lucky to have become acquainted with him through Club Cobra.
