Moving to Wilmington N.C.

Hi guys,Going to move down here after I retire. In NY yearly registration fee is based on gross weight. I understand you guys pay yearly fees based value of the car. In NY my Reggy reads 2006 custom. What be the apx. cost a year? And how does N.C. DMV register them? And any problems doing it.

Yearly registration fee is $28.00. Taxes are based on value of the car, as decided by the state. My 1997 Lone Star taxes were about $42.00 this year. My car is also listed as a 1997 custom. All that means is it's either homebuilt, or not a make recognized by the state. It's been awhile, but from what I hear, it's still pretty easy to register. They will issue you an emissions waiver letter, which after your first inspection will already be electronically on file at the DMV. Pretty nice state for replicas, in my opinion. I moved here in 1986 from Erie, Pa, and have loved it ever since. I'm sure you will too. Wilmington is a great city, been there a number of times.
