Turkey DAy Run
Each year a few of us (North Alabama Cobra Club) get together for a cruise to another city on Thanksgiving Day morning. We have to be back by 11:00 or 12:00 but some years we can do a 100 mile cruise by noon. This morning it was 19 degree when we met at BoJangles. Coach suggested a shorter trip would be better or I might freeze my butt off. Coach was in his Coupe with a heater. But I was dressed for the weather and I have a heater.
So we drove to Loretto, Tennessee just 25 miles away. When we got there we stopped at Hardee's for hot chocolate and a long break. Then a quick trip back to Florence, 46 mile trip and it was 28 degrees on the return trip. Oil temp never got above 180. One year I remember it was 34 degree. 2009 was 46 degrees and 2011 was 41. So this was the coldest Turkey Day Run for us. Most years it's in the 50's. see ya on tha road Dwight |
