What are the best Cobra/Auto Meets for this summer?
I was going over my personal/business calender for the next 18 months and basically the longer vacation breaks are designed around my 10+ twin daughters. This year they want to spend part of the summer visiting some national parks again. Trying to squeeze three things into a 7-8 week period.
Since they are in private school their summer starts mid-May so if anyone knows of any really good Cobra/Auto meets going on from the end of May to mid-aug please post. Probably not going to the august car shows in Cali in August. Trying to combine the National Parks with a segment with a few friends with classic muscle cars and see what kind of trouble we can get into. On top of that I recently aquired my type rating for our Albatross. So if I can figure that into the trip I'm all set. Hey Gruff you ever fly one? Once again thanks for your time and any ideas you might want to share. |
I am not much for sitting at car shows. I like to drive. Events that I plan to attend are the Targa California April 24 to 26th. There is an ITN rally planned for sometime in May.

Two events come to mind:
The Mid-America Shelby meet in Tulsa (Fathers Day Week) Mid America Ford Meet London Cobra Show in Columbus Ohio the following weekend London Cobra Show - The Ohio Cobra Club Both events combine car show and the opportunity to drive your Cobra at speed on a true road course. X2 for the London Cobra Show. Kind of like Sturgis for motorcycles. Just to say you've been there.
You might try Cruise Colorado for a bit shorter haul to an event. Leaves out of the Denver area June 15th thru 20th this year. Spectacular drive and a really great group of people usually 1K to 1200 miles. I've been hauling over from Oregon for the past 6 or so.
