Rear View Mirror?
Has anyone used a wide golf cart mirror for a rear view mirror?
If so would you have a any pictures of the installation? I find the Cobra is very hard to see a good rear and side view. I do have spot mirrors on the visors, and they do help but I would like to find something that shows a better view. Any suggestions would be welcome. Hopefully spring will be here soon. Thanks, Mike |
Mike, I use a water skiing mirror from Bart's that clips to top of windshield. Chas

I found a clip on mirror that works great. If I want to look original, I can take the mirror off quickly and put it in the glove box. See the pic in my album...

Here's a link to a clip on one I've used: 20/20 Vision Mirror - AutoSport Catalog
Here's what it looks like in a car. http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...13CIMG0353.JPG :3DSMILE::3DSMILE::3DSMILE: |
I use 3 mirrors. The one in the Cobra and one on each fender just in front of the door and had a pretty good field of view of anything that was behind me including the normal blind spot. Some people have use the parabolic mirrors but I never used one so I don't know how they worked. I think I like Jim's mirror in the picture above as well as any I have seen.

Just another comment on the wide mirror, it really opens up your field of vision to the rear. The original type mirror as you all know is very narrow and restricts what you can see. With the wide mirror there is no comparison. Best $20+ safety investment you can make IMHO.

My solution was to extend the rear view 2" taller to see out over the soft top just below the rear plexiglass. The fender mirrors are going away in favor of ones on custom made wing window brackets,once spring rolls around.

Franco: And now my friend, the first-a rule of Italian driving. [Franco rips off his rear-view mirror and throws it out of the car] Franco: What's-a behind me is not important. |

You guys need a mirror? From 1978 US Express(the original one) |
I purchased a wide vision mirror for about $10.00 at Pep Boys. It is spring loaded and clips over the primary mirror so it is very easy to install and remove. It works so well I can imagine driving my car without it.
