Leather & carbon fiber seats, 850 hours of block sanding & then painted black, plus it's for sale

Very nice! I remember seeing Street Beasts concept drawings of the coupe. I'm somwhat surprised that they actually produced one.

Looks like he put a lot of time and effort into that car.

Not to comment on the history of that manufacturer, but building that car was probably not without some challenges. It seems he overcame those quite well. Got any more pictures of it?

I would say that is a very personalized interpretation of a Cobra Coupe and it looks stunning from the photos. Really, really tasteful update to the body style, interior and engine bay. 9 years in the making. Wow. And based on a Street Beasts kit no less. Hats off to the builder!

In my second post I have a link to over 500 pictures of the show in Naples Florida & there you will find more pictures of the coupe.

The pictures of the white fiberglass coupe above I took at the 2005 Turkey Rod Run when Street Beast was still up & running. Woody has made his a piece of art.

That is a beautiful car and the work is just fantastic. I have seen several Street Beasts around here and none of them even begin to compare with what you have done with yours. Great job.

Ron :)

On Saturday February 15, 2014 I again attended the ’Cars on Fifth’ car show, held each year by the Naples Ferrari Club. This year I met again with Woody the owner of a one of a kind Cobra replica Fast Back Coupe. I again introduced myself to Woody as it had been a year since we first met at last year’s show. This year the coupe was really complete as now every thing was done & done very nicely as this entire car is just superb.
The Body is one of four original 1966 Cobra Coupes from replica builder Street Beast, now no longer in business. Every panel except the hood was improved for either physical appearance, or mechanical or aerodynamic advantage, & the look is stunning especially painted in black. This is the Cobra Shelby should have built, most replicas attempting this look place a fast back hard top on the roadster, where the hard top hits the trunk, then they split the trunk lid & reverse the trunk hinges & now there is still a trunk but it drops downward.
The interior was done by DVC Custom Interiors, Naples Fl. , it now has black leather& carbon fiber seating & a turned metal dash & door sills. It has been drastically modified from the original.
Suspension is tubular asymmetrical A arms with coil overs in front. Rear end is I.R.S. Jaguar De Dion style with in board disc brakes, built around 9” Ford center section. It is polished. Brakes are 6 piston Willwood in front & 4 piston rears.
The motor is a 4.6 dual overhead cam that was hand built by Ford Racing. It is supercharged & injected with 11 pounds of boost, estimated at around 540 hp, with a 6 speed Tremec transmission.
The paint is P.P.G. shop line base coat code 9700, with P.P.G. urethane primer, P.P.G. epoxy primer sealer. With over 850 hours of hand sanding & blocking, to make that black paint pop, then clear coated with P.P.G. 2021 pure urethane.
The car was built at So Flo speed shop located at Naples, Fl. The suspension tuning & motor management tuning & wiring was done by Superior Customs Classics located in Hudson, Fl. 34667.
Superior Custom Classics - Custom Classic Restoration, Exterior, Interior and Engine Building
This project took 9 years & one quadruple bypass surgery for its owner Woody to complete.
The car is For Sale, for additional information call Woody at 239-262-4065 or email fastwoody@gmail.com

I remember seeing one of those at the Goodguy's Nationals in Columbus Ohio years ago. It was pretty neat looking. It was not complete, just a bare body sitting on a frame. Street Beasts had a tent there with about 6-7 cars.

Some StreetBeasts are really nice, just depends on the builder :)
