Comparing VR1 conventional 20w50 to Joe Gibbs 15w50
I completely appreciate that oil threads abound on CC. I would just like a comparison of these two oils. I tried google and whatknot without success.
Valvoline VR1 conventional 20w50 vs. Joe Gibbs 15w50 Hot Rod conventional. Which one is better? What do you folks think??? Thanks Mucho JB |

Any variety of 50 wt it too heavy for normal clearances in any sort of street application.

I've been using VR1 20w50 for 7 years and 20,000 miles with no problems. Plus it is avalible at most auto parts.

Ok, thank you for the responses so far.
Now, how about answering the question. Are there any advantages to either of these 2 oils??? Rick and Mad, Doug Meyers is a "high flow" over the bearings builder. He likes that. He says 20-50 or 15-50 is the correct weight. I know he likes VR1, Gibbs and Penn. |
honestly, there is no right answer. better is a matter of opinion.
i don't think you would go wrong with any of them. it will probably be best to choose which has better availability to you, where you live, and price. in your close proximity to Phila you could probably get any of them quite easily...... |
Bradd penn is tenacious you can't wipe it off. If u don't drive often I like bradd penn
