AN Plumbing adapter fitting ID size
Looking for information on AN adapter fitting ID size, I have a fitting with no brand name on it, -10an O ring boss to -12an male, the ID size is (0.638") -12an all the way through, this makes it quite thin on the boss end but nice for oil gallery adapter or where a reduced size weld bung is needed..
Any practical experience/info on what brands have the largest ID or flow rates? |
I use mostly Fragola and Aeroquip stuff, much of which is radiused. I've heard XRP has the thinnest walls/largest inner diameters.

I have heard same re XRP.
I have many $K's of Aeroquip fittings and startlite hose yet to go on to this project its dam hard to keep track of and then with changing parts as I have a habit of, probably will end up with about $1k of surplus. Have kept the hose fittings all AQ, they don't have the greatest range of adapters so have gone with XRP on some things. |

XRP has some of the best fittings I have used. I have more than a few of their fittings on my car. Call them up and get them to send you a catalog. You wont be disappointed with them.
Make sure of the color of fitting you want. I went the traditional blue and red from earls and all the rest. I am slowly changing out the fittings to either black or plain aluminum. If you want plain aluminum on a fitting you already have you can remove the anodizing with some stuff from eastwood. Works very well. Gene |
In the AN world the number replates to 1/16 inch--so in your case the id size .638 is equalate to 10/16 inch or the #10 an size-------

Measured these AQ fittings, -12an O ring boss has 0.600" ID -12an 90 degree 0.580" ID Unknown brand -10an o ring to -12 male has bore size of 0.638" I guess I can buy a 10-12 adapter fitting and lathe out the bore, but I would prefer to have a nice anodised factory fitting.. |
