Changed my fck Keyless Ign for an original type Lucas Ign.

There are some technology that will never be to old to be good. I bought my Superformance and it came with the Keyless system, it had been a pain in the ass because some times the ignition button stayed on and the car was unable to start and I had to reset the system or press the start button several times to start the engine. Also when the batteries of the RIF or responder was dead, I had to jump the ignition cables to start the car. I decided to buy an original ignition from Lucas and now the car is more easy to start. I suggest for anyone thinking to buy this system to stick with the original key ignition system. Is better to have a key and turn on your car the old way, the feeling is different and better; the way is suppose to be. This invention is like the fax machine, it never get Old. Cheers;)

Your keyless ignition is an aftermarket add-on I presume. I know of no such factory option that is available on a new chassis. Perhaps something added by a previous owner or a unique dealer installed item? Even a push button starter button in non-standard accessory on a new chassis. Just trying to keep current here with any electrical changes....

Yeah, they keyless systems have been around for a few years. But they don't seem to be getting any better. Or maybe the previous owner didn't want to spend the money for a top of the line unit. I'd like to install one. But I would need a back up key switch.

The brand was guard dawg keyless system, the beepers are made in "china town", crapy...

Anyway what is the advantage? It may look cool but is not better than a key ignition.
