Steering wheel emblem options

Hi all,

I'm curious on which steering wheel emblem owners are using. My car came with the Superformance red square but I really don't like it, I'm stuck between the AC and the Cobra logo. Looking to purchase one from Fast Line this week... Feed back, stories and pictures of your steering wheel will be greatly appreciated.

I just stuck a Cobra hood/trunk emblem into the middle of the wheel. I like the exposed fastner look.

I used the AC emblem which I concluded was more original based on what photos I've managed to find in old road tests and from the Shelby American archives. I like it.

I have both!

I vaguely recall a similar discussion a couple years back. The feedback that I remember indicated that the black/silver Cobra logo was prominent on the S/C cars, while the AC logo became more prominent with the street cars (including 427). Tried searching for the old thread...

You can just buy the emblem without the backing. Much cheaper. Use a propane torch on the back of your steering wheel to soften the adhesive of the spf emblem and it pulls right off.

Do not use a screwdriver to remove the center piece as you will ding the aluminium. wrap fishing line around the emblem and work back and forth.

I use the red/white/blue Cobra badge that snaps into the center of the steering wheel. I like it, but it is easy to change in the future if I decide to.

The "SPF" emblem is held onto an aluminum boss that is retained in the steering wheel via an "O" Ring. Finish Line has replacement centers with both the "AC" and black on silver "Cobra" logo pieces.

Cobra emblem for me I don't like the Superformance one. I'm having trouble attaching a photo, just go to my site and scroll down for the steering wheel photo.

I believe the best one is the Cobra center cap that is Red/Blue/Silver, it was used I believe on more 427 street cars, than the Black/Silver Cobra.

I don't believe any 427 street cars received the AC center cap

Again, I don't recall the exact thread but wouldn't doubt you.

The original center emblems appear to attach with a tab or tang at the top that wraps over the split spoke area along the upper flat. I have yet to find any aftermarket source that offers that. :confused:

I went back and forth a few times. I like the appearance of both. The black and silver of the AC logo is both stark and appealing. In the end I fell down on the AC logo side of the street as the way for me to go. Here is what it looks like;

Thanks for all the input guys.... I'm leaning towards the AC logo since my car is black with carbon stripes. They're only 50 bucks so I might buy both and play around with it though.
