Don Borders Has Passed

This is just a short note to inform the Cobra Community that my good friend Don Borders passed on the week of April 21 2014

Don was in the need of a heart transplant.

Don was a good friend but most important an authority in Cobra Building and one of the more knowledgeable individuals in Fords and specially Mustangs.

Don will be missed.

Please post some comments and share any stories you may have.

May he rest in peace

Ricardo Singer

Read Singer's post today after searching the web for info on Don Borders. Don worked on my toy some years ago and did great work. He took his time plus a lot of mine (waiting months and months for him to finish if I could find him). My friend Jim, at Sports Cars Garage in Palm Desert, said a few years ago that Don had returned to the desert, but that no one had a phone or address for him. Liked Don and his stories about cars. He did great work and my car will miss his attention. RIP Don and thanks for the update Singer.

Condolences to his family and close friends. I never knew him personally, but he built my CCX. I have all the build sheets and such and spoke to him some time ago when I purchased the car from its then owner in 2005. He answered my questions and gave me some insight as to the build.
