Hey Little Cobra
I heard today on the radio that on May 23, 1964, 50 years ago today, that The Rip Chords appeared on American Bandstand and sang "Hey Little Cobra". Did a little searching and ran across this video. Several nice examples of vintage in the rough.

To cut to the chase it said: "young singer and songwriter Carol Connors, formerly known as Annette Kleinbard …..celebrating the gift of an AC Cobra from its inventor, the racing driver Carroll Shelby, whose jovial challenge – “If you write a song about my car and it goes to number one, I’ll give you one” — had sent her home to write “Hey Little Cobra” for the Rip Chords (she’s holding up the sheet music)." This picture was included in the blog entry. Obviously a slabside. Interesting paint job to say the least, with the single slender stripe down the middle, and the swoops down the fenders.
