Replacement 7/8 Clutch Slave Needed
All,
I'm using a stock 1990 5.0 Bellhousing and WC T5 and need a push style 7/8" clutch slave. This will need to push toward the front of the car so I specifically need one with the correct bleed screw orientation. Speedway has an inexpensive one but the bleed is wrong. All threads point to Forte but quite honestly, his setup is out of my price range. I can easily fabricate the bracket, just need the slave. A previous post pointed to a basic Oreilly's unit for an older Jeep, just don't know about it's bore size. As always, any help would be greatly appreciated! Mike |
Here are the specs for mine...
The slave that you see here on my system, and which is attached to my Tilton 7/8 master, is a BMW unit that comes from the 1972-76 2002. The part number is 21521104269 (20.5 mm, .81” ID). Fabbing a bracket would not be difficult if the bleeder sits where you want it.

The BMW slave cylinder rotates in the mount so that the bleeder screw can be positioned at any clock position and locked with a set screw. But, I don't know if it is adaptable to a forward stroking mount or not(?).

Lemmee give you a better shot of that BMW slave. And I don't see why pushing forward is any different than pushing backwards. A push is a push, just like a horse is a horse, of course, of course....

I've just never seen a push forward mount before. I know a lot of small block Mustangs had some sort of rig like this but I'm not sure what the slave mounting looked like.

Go to napa's website and do a search. You'll find a ton of 7/8" slave cylinders. Pick one that suits your needs then make a bracket. Shouldn't cost more than $15 for the slave.

Thanks for the quick response! I did a search on Dorman's site and it does look like I can search by bore size. Found a couple so far that may work well. The BMW slave looks like it would give me some flexibility. I'll check NAPA as well.
