Dwight
I just may show up. The last two trips were made driving in what can best be described as"end of days" rain. 2012 and 2013 I ended up bailing an inch or two off water out of the car. My wife was along for the ride in 2013 and seriously wanted me to drop her off at the Jetplex for her return trip To Harrisburg.

It would be great to hookup with you there

Geary,
It's nice to see you on cc. I had no idea that you NEVER posted here before.
Your reputation precedes you  Everyone here knows you. :p
You're a madman racking up those miles in that motor. That's the way to do it.
I did finally add twin pushers in the standard S/C mounting style but that's all show according to my findings. I did get temps down with a H.O. Spal puller fan, though.
I had a bog situation when giving her a spirited go. I adjusted the rear carb to come on sooner and that cleared her right up. And a nice 'kill' as a trophy the following weekend.
Don't be a stranger.

Rodney - I have toyed with the idea of a coast to coast run. Harrisburg Pa to the Queen Mary and back. Maybe try to get sponsorship for a charitable cause.
Just kicking around ideas now. Schedule the event and get as much press coverage as possible en route. It would be great to hookup with other certifiable "Mad Men" and do a 6000 mile run for a good cause and the bragging rights that are the "spoils" of the adventure.
It won't be this year as I am building a high-end 1968 Mustang. She's a 68 convertible and I have a freshly machined Shelby 428 CJ ready to install.
I am duplicating the engine in my car with the Shelby engine used as the base.. Craig has a pair of SN60's waiting for me when I need them. This car will have a lot of European/American classic sports car styling queues. Also 1100 HP rated knockoff, center-well laced wire wheels. I'm trying to have her ready for SAAC Nationals this August at Pocono International.

They had a special on Velocity Ch. about a month ago about Ron and was his only interview. In short the reason he is getting out is.... "been there, done that" is the way I took it... he also said he was very busy

Geary,
That idea sounds like a blast. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to join you in such a big endeavor but if you do it, we should definitely get together. The Queen Mary is in my backyard (I'm just right up the hill). I can give you a run for your money on the same fwy exit and path to the ship. Then to my place for dinner and drinks **)
Are you gonna do it in the Cobra or the Mustang?

It's now ~ 36,000+ miles. I have participated with the Rocket City Mustang Club in Huntsville Alabama twice which accounts for about 4,000 miles. I have attached images of my fan setup.
As previously mentioned in this thread, the fans on CSX3015 would not be as effective as reverse mounting them close to the radiator. As per the SuperSnake my oil filter is in the driverside grille area.

OnyxRider - I've had success correcting most of the inherent problems on CSX3015. Craig Conley helped me early in my car's build and have contacted many of the individuals associated with the original cars back in the day. I studied the car at great length in David Scaiff's collection when he owned it prior to Ron Pratt. I use my car virtually daily I mean even short hops to do banking, pickup groceries, ya know - Daily driver stuff. Craig asked me when I bought my Paxtons from him if I was going to set it up exactly like the original or did I want it to run right. My car doesn't foul plugs, overheat , spit and gag at red lights. Actually it will idle a bit lumpy but smoothly at 650 -675 RPM and 180 degrees temp which sounds like blasphemy to most FE guys. On the flip side flicking the throttle sharply - even a small amount - is something that a rational human being learns quickly not to do. Akin to driving a rail dragster on ice.
The problems you described are common to all who believe that a supercharged car must
run very rich with very late timing. This common “wisdom” gives a great ¼ mile ride but makes a lousy car for anything but ¼ mile strip driving.

I'll pass the news on to BC. I was just talking to him the other weekend about his trip to Abu Dhabi. I'm trying to get him to attend the Kissimmee auction next month here in Florida and bring something cool. He's waiting for a few customs from SRT I was informed.

Getting back to the Ron Pratte auction I found this interesting reading on Hemmings blog. BC was writing about his Streamliner in the comments section. His Streamliner preceded the Futureliners and is only one known to exist.

drill eight 3/8" holes in the floor under the carpet. Just find the low spots in the floor and drill holes.

Dwight,

Geary knows all it takes is a Phillips head screwdriver and a decent hatchet downward swing as he saw the aftermath of my trip to Pocono where it was forecast to be only a 10% chance of an afternoon shower, and it turned out to be a 10% chance of it not raining.Ever wear a 3 layer fire suit in the rain

Faith in weather forecasts has reached the point where many around here refer to them as "90% accurate, 10% of the time".
