South Bay/Los Angeles Roll Call
OK, Who don't I know? Who should I know?
Who is in the Los Angeles? Make yourself known! |
Not much of a response from a car universe state. Maybe because c & c @ Irvine is 20 mins away and there is more to see and do?
|
nyg,
Irvine is over 45 mins away. That's a pretty early start to get there at sunrise. C&C is cool but there's a lot Los Anginos who won't/don't want to drive to OC. The show in PV is very low key (didn't know until after I moved there) and a good bunch of guys. In my group (Carrera GT, Ferrari BB, Ford GT, McCluskey Kirkhams, Ford Rally car) none of these guys maintain any online presence. So I'm trying to find more, in the heart of the car universe. Actually, the heart of the Cobra universe. Before you ask, do a little research. Better chance of seeing a Lambo in OC. Better chance of seeing a Gullwing in PV. Get it? Plus, the kids and dogs are better behaved. More to see in Irvine? Sure. WRX's, Scions, Hondas. Huge stucco shopping malls. Nothing to do? Well, maybe compared to Jersey Shore. %/ |
Actually, one person did respond via email. I'll keep his name private but he has a CCX 'restored' by Nick Acton. Picture looked amazing. Can't wait to see it in person.

close to pv
hi rodney I am close and have been there ,it really nice and homey. I do believe the last one rained and ill be out of town this weekend , I hope to meet you there , regards richard
|
Looking forward to it.
To be honest, this weekend isn't looking good for many. |
I still live in LA, and from downtown LA to Irvine is about a 45 mins. away. Saturday mornings should take less. From PV to Irvine, hop on the 405 and u will be there in 20 mins.
I get your point. C & C is like going to see a blockbuster movie. PV is like going to see an indie movie. Same entertainment, different mindset. |
Actually, 'show to show' it's a 55 min drive in no traffic, maybe shave off another 5 for early Sat morning.
|
off the subject but around LA County, the best times to drive FAST is weekend mornings. Freeway 405, 5 , 10, 101 are wide open to hit 70-110 mph once the overnight construction/cleaning crews punch out.
|
I have been attending this little show for several years. Not many Cobra regulars but a nice variety of cars. It is not C&C or SCS but a nice low key gathering with a great PV coast drive after.

4017,
It's hit or miss but if we make a little effort, we can have some great cars/people there consistantly. Now that we're in the warmer season, I'll put out some reminders. |
