still working on the spats
I'm still in the process of setting up my little metal working shop.
It's been four years since I've played with my hobby and my skills as well as me tools are a little rusty. Today I tried the blocking and forming technique for making some spats. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...=12349&thumb=1 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...=12350&thumb=1 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...=12351&thumb=1 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...=12351&thumb=1 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...=12352&thumb=1 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...=12353&thumb=1 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...=12354&thumb=1 http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/pict...=12355&thumb=1 |
The last pictures shows a comparison of a part on the left made entirely by using the English wheel and the one on the right was made by blocking and forming.
I always get a shinier part when I use the wheel exclusively, but blocking and forming is faster. |
I'm really looking forward to seeing them! You're awesome Roger! :)

Fascinating to watch how it's all formed!
