ERA Chas 07-10-2014 07:15 PM

Well it turns out I'm the bad guy here.
Jeff, I had no intention to be malicious in my comments. Sure you can have your car any way you want. And the tools and toys that go with it. I got that.
If you recall in your engine thread and build thread, I tried to contribute to many of the questions you asked. I crossed many of those bridges in the years with my car and hoped to be helpful.
I can see now you would have preferred I didn't. But I am passionate about ERA's and great engines. Maybe too deeply for your taste. I was just trying to encourage you to get the most from your package. Ed's wrong-I was not 'taunting' you-just trying to open you up to new thoughts about what you have.

And Ed; your comments suggest you think I'm a poser; 27 years building, rebuilding and developing the same car. Raced on street, track, autox and dragstrip. It's NOT just a one-dimension, straight-line car.
I always respected the numbers you put up because I know what it takes and how to make them. I didn't accomplish what you did but I've been where you've been-for a long time. I street raced as a kid in the '60's and have sold parts to racers and recorded 40 dyno runs a month to sell crate engines.
To dispel the notion that I've a paper asshole;

No worries Chas. I don't think anything I wrote implied that I don't appreciate constructive help, because I do. I was just calling out that it was a harsh comment. No big deal.

All right Chas, I'll stop busting your chops. Your not a poser, but the experience on how and what it takes to get 1.2sec 60' vs 1.5 or 1.7sec is not in the same league, so I called you on it... BTW, I drove my car at the 1992 Run-n-Gun in Indianapolis, hung out with John Chiachi and George Anderson and a bunch of others in the earlier days, so I been around a while also. And, like I said earlier, my car is set up for road course work, so I have only made three passes down the 1320 with 10.69 being the best.

Yep, I never see him at the poser's meetings, which we have every other Thursday night at the Chick Filet. Uhhhh, of course I don't attend those either.:rolleyes:
