Need help with exhaust.
Hi there, I have a Classic Roadsters C-427. The exhaust is too quiet and I'm assuming the pipes have baffling inside and they need to go!
Thoughts on how to remove without cutting the pipe? Many thanks! |
Build yourself a new set of pipes, because sooner or later you're going to want to quiet them down, and you can put these back on.

I was where you are just a few months ago. No way around not cutting the pipes. I did it and used a 4 in band to hold it back together after changing the insert and it sounded better but the chrome band didn't match up with the ceramic pipes. I ended up going with Classic Chambered Exhaust and they sound great. Still had to cut the pipe off just past where 4 go into one and connect them there. They look good and sound much better.

Cr pipes are very restrictive. Classic Chambered is what I used as well and it really improved performance and sound. I replaced the intake manifold at the same time and have before and after dyno results and picked up 70 -80hp and tq. I was very happy with the change. Mufflers $150, fab work $250, new ceramic coating $400, smile on my face when the sound tickled my insides- Priceless. I wear ear plugs when I drive now.
