How do I take the smith speedometer out? Think I found one round screw but thats it?

I think there are two knurled nuts on the back that secure a U-bracket to the back of the dash. At least that is what I recall from my ERA. And of course the wiring connections.

Two knurled knobs and then disconnect the mechanical speedo cable which can be done after you pull the unit out of the dash to the front. It is easier the second time you do it. When you disconnect the knob you will have two pieces per side. The knob and a metal leg that presses against the back side of the dash.
