Question About Original Cobra
I was recently watching one of the Mecum auctions when an original 427 Cobra went up for auction and I believe they said it was CSX3135. The bidding only went to $300K and stopped. Of course it didn't sell. I was curious as to why the bidding stopped at such a low price and it got me to wondering if this was one of those originals with questionable credentials. Do any of you originality experts know anything about this car ?

Thanks for the replies. Very interesting story. Now I understand why it didn't go beyond $300K. It kind of begs the question (which I'm sure I'm not the first to ask) of where is the line drawn between being a genuine original Cobra or not. Ted |
