Yes, and peak hp rpm.

For instance, speaking in generalities, if you have a particular head and cam combination, then make that head work better, you will get horsepower and torque, plus a higher peak hp rpm. On top of that, if you add even more duration and lift, then you should get more horsepower at an even higher peak rpm.

You can see how good a cylinder head is by how much duration you need to make the engine peak at a particular rpm.

That's very interesting. Thanks again for taking the time.

Hey Brent I tried to call you earlier but I misised you. My heads are ported but not highly polished and from what you have said and I have read the 282s Comp Cam seems like a good fit. ? My springs were matched with my older cam, but since I am going down in lift etc. do I really need to replace my springs too? This engine build has less than 2000 miles on it. Mostly road racing.

I wouldn't think it's necessary, unless the difference in lift is substantial.

You can go with the Comp 282S, or you can add another 40 bucks or so and get a full custom cam...it would be nice to have the extra exhaust duration with a spirited Cobra.

I can have a custom cam to your door in about week, or an off the shelf cam to your door in just a few days.

You'll need new lifters as well...

I am going to probably go with the std 282s and a set of new dog bone solid lifters. May also need a few other things. Get with you later. How late is too late to call Brent. In meeting now.

Call anytime Clois...
