SPF Speedo removal

I will be getting my Speedhut GPS speedo early next week and cannot determine how to remove the existing Smith's speedo. Anyone give me directions?

Thanks in advance
Benny

You should be able to remove all connections by hand. Reach under the dash and unscrew the knurled retaining nut holding the speedometer cable into the speedometer. (you may have to use a small pair of channel lock pliers to loosen this nut). Pull out the speedometer cable. Pull the light bulb out the back of the speedometer. There are two knurled nuts that hold the speedometer into the dash via a U-shaped clamp. Unscrew the two knurled nuts, pull off the U-shaped clamp and pull the speedometer out the front of the dash.

Hope this helps

Ted

The thing gives 0 to 60 times quarter mile times, and a host of other readings
