Don't seem to see CSX8000 cars very often, have they made 967 or have some numbers been issued out of sequence? If they have made 967, what will be the follow on number designation for the slab side cars once they complete car # 8999? |
Nice! I like the generator!

interesting choice of early exhaust manifolds with the webers. One of my concerns with these cars was if webers would fit/ breathe without a hood scoop. Very pleased to see all is well! Looks great.
Another piece of good news is that on the strength of these anniversary models I could get SPAX to make shocks to the right specs but with 28 adjustments! A worthwhile upgrade at some point. The wiring diagram and model specific owners manual is also now available. Great cars that have almost doubled in value since they were announced. Enjoy |
CSX 8967 is an aluminum car with a 1962 260 c.i. engine. All of the accessory's were original to the engine. These parts were all restored and have up graded internals. The t-10 is also dated within two months of the engine. The generator is the original but was gutted and converted into an alternator. I am removing the 50 th. badging and installing 1962 period badging as well as AC wheel spinners. The steering wheel center has been replaced as well as the pedals (now AC). I have the tool kit put together as well as Shelley jack kit. The car has Firestone radials but I'm thinking of installing AVONS.
Thanks go to - Mickmate, CompClassics, David Wagner, Bryans Racing, So/Cal Paintworks, Tom Barnard. |
Very sweet, well done! ;)

Anyone sell or reproduce the exhaust manifold?
Larry |
Mike Mcluskey sold me a set of the cast "stubbies" and Kirk Hawkins (Red Shark Engineering) sold me the pipes. Try them Larry. Dave Wagner uses the same but I`m not sure if manufactures or buys.

Thank you for the credit, Legenmetals! We have changed our name now to "RACEWHERE", now if only I could change my screen name! John

This is what I made for the intermediate pipes, they look and fit great on the car. The heads were ported by Valley head service and the exhaust manifolds were matched to the heads. Eddy at Bryans Racing did some math on the exhaust sizing using the cast manifolds and determined that these would work with the mild engine build. |
