Made my bungee cord mounts today using SSTL 3/8 x 1-1/2 fender washers. I opened up the ID to 9/16", and then used a template to drill the 3 mounting holes in each. I ended up not countersinking the holes

The original plates were made from aluminum that was slightly thicker than the body material and were fabricated and riveted to the body...the reason for the plate is to act as a doubler for the body, the reason for the original fabrication was so that once riveted the plate would conform to the shape of the body.
