I knew a guy who put an engine/trans from a Nissan B210 into an MGB. It was fantastic, modern, reliable, smooth, faster, better mpg, easier to fix and cheaper to maintain, He loved it ! I wonder how the "Only the way it came from the factory, Only Ford in a Cobra" crowd feels about a Nissan in a MGB????

They've sure got it right now, though. Anyone who denies that the current Z06 is one of the the best bang for the buck performance cars ever is either in denial or delusional. In fact, looking at the current crop of factory muscle from all of the big three, the glory days are here again!

All of the new Corvettes are BAD MOTHER F ers, I love them and want a white one. Even the base model I'm cool with, their is a blue one by my house and when he floored it from the stoplight it shot FIRE out of the tailpipe about a foot, lol...

Before you get too 'wrapped around the axle' about all those 'foreign' cars, take a look at the linked infographic published by Car and Driver magazine (A Graphic Representation of What's Really "Made in America" - Feature - Car and Driver). It clearly indicates that, when it comes to North American content, the Ford (60%), Chev/GMC (61%) and Dodge/Ram (70%) pickups have less than Toyota Tundra (80%), Toyota Camry (80%), Honda Accord (80%), and Honda Odyssey (75%). There are many other examples of 'foreign' cars with much higher NA content than the domestic models they compete against. Food for thought.

It's clear to see the nameplate and its origins don't necessarily provide any meaningful information as to where it's made and whether it is truly a 'foreign' or 'domestic' car.

One thing is for certain we Cobra types are not alone in our quest for acceptance. Our Harleys take the same verbal beating form the nay sayers or loyalists. For the last 35 yrs. have been building and riding fast Harley Davidson motorcycles with after market stroker engines. You can bet I have heard it all there as well. "A Harley is not a Harley with aftermarket engines". Ya Right! if you say so Pal. You want to line em up!!!!!

Wow - interesting. I think most are cognizant of the global nature of major manufacturing, but I for one never realized it applied to such a great extent in the US auto industry. Toyota Tundra "more American" than Ford??? What's next?

Well - maybe they didn't get that one quite right...sounds like a fuel delivery or timing issue...

Unless of course you had too much beer and hot chili burritos, and the flames really shot out of your *ahem* tailpipe when the dude floored the 'Vette...
