CSX 2436 Barn Find Going to Gooding Auction

Maybe you East Coasties are already familiar with this car, but thought I would post the link. A very nice barn find from Vermont....

289 Cobra barn find will be offered at Gooding Scottsdale auction

How one there wasn't one in my barn? My guess is this one was not necessarily an unknown "barn find", but rather someone who decided that it was time to make some money on the car. Looks nice. Anyone have $1.5 million that they want to let me borrow?

Will you take a two-party, out of state, post dated check?

Hopefully, they won't touch a thing or even wash it. Survivor cars like this don't come around too often!

Here is the direct link to Gooding for the car. Just in case someone really dug deep into the couch for spare change...

I like the way it looks in the pictures and would leave it that way. I have got to start looking in barns when I see one.

Ron

Was it found by a barn finder first? Anybody famous for barn finds?

Or was this like the Alain Delon Ferrari coming up in Feb. in Paris, a car where the family that owned it searched out the right auction company? That Ferrari is going for over $10 million...

I think the color change will hurt it a little but it's otherwise not changed that much from stock

With the dollar value of these "barn finds" now, you could probably buy a restored car, drive it through a few fields, let it sit outside under a tree so the birds crap all over it, then park it in a barn with newspapers on it for a few years and sell it at a huge profit.
