Ford To Discontinue V-8

Ford has had this rumor floating around for a year or more but now they have confirmed it. There will be no more Ford V-8s after 2017. So if you want one you had best buy them up now.

Stupid.

Chrysler did the same thing in the 1980's, but they brought it back (Hemi), plus they have the V-10.

Americans love V8s. Automakers need to understand that fact.

Only the low end models. The Raptor gets also a V6 TC. But the F250 stays with the V8.
It's about the fleet emission - that's all.

Clickbait headline.

The V8 stays in several products, Super Duty, E-Series chassis and more. And I think you will see the Coyote around longer than this claims.

I can confirm (loosely and unofficially) that the V8 will be around for longer than that article alludes to. ;)

Just remember the time when the 2-stroke dirt bikes became "obsolete" - the sales skyrocket. I know a guy which has the LAST model year of one model ---- in 3 different years.
The MfG announced 3 times in row, that will be the last year hahaha.

G-Pete
I'm not sure if you were talking about me or maybe there is another Motard that did that
2007 was supposed to be the last year for the Yamaha YZ 250 2-stroke
So I bought 3 thinking that they may be worth something in 5-10 years

2008, Yamaha continues production, so I bought 3 more
2009, Yamaha continues production, so I bought 3 more

Anyway, this happens every year up until now

So, that program hasn't worked to well

Oh, if anyone is interested in brand new, in the crate YZ 250's
I have 21 for sale. Lol

G-Pete 01-14-2015 07:59 AM

Hey G., darn funny story. Yes, I was talking about your bikes. C-Ya Saturday 31st!
