Wiper came off, frustrated

My drivers side wiper assembly came off in a rainstorm a week ago. Now laying somewhere along FL 27. It is easy enough to purchase the arm and the blade at Finishline or cobra restorers. The set screw came loose on the thimble sized knurled part captured within the wiper arm and that is why it came off. Where can I buy the thimble sized knurled part that clamps onto the axle of the wheelhouse? It is always the littlest things that are a pain in the butt.

I've never seen those sold separately. They are pressed onto the wheelbox shaft. Time to buy a new wheelbox. Maybe $40 from Moss.

Young1 (and Bob :) ),

Is this what you meant?

Wiper Arm Adapters

If you Google "windshield wiper knurl" or "windshield wiper adapter" you'll find the above and more, such as this one too:

Specialty Power Windows

I know about these because mine broke continuously when the car was first put on the road - yeah, I know, I was driving it in the rain - still do :JEKYLHYDE

I keep a spare now, although if I had to find it, well, you know...

Hope this helps,

Tom
