Amelia Island Concours 2015
Spent the weekend at the Concours on Amelia Island. Cars & Coffee car show and RM Auction on Saturday, and then Concours
show on Sunday. Three original Cobras out there, CSX3130 in the Concours, and CSX3045 and 2147 in the RM Auction. http://youtu.be/tAqqBk6FUdk CSX3045 sold for $2.1 mil, and CSX2147 sold for $990K. Decent results for both. Here is a link to my pictures from the weekend: https://flic.kr/s/aHsk8HaQuE Two AC Bristols, one coupe, one roadster, and few nice Cobra replicas (an ERA and a couple SPF). There was also an FII roadster on display in the Motor Expo. The FII features an alloy Cobra-like body stretched over a Shelby Series One chassis. All-in-all, a great weekend. Jeff |
Sweet cars.... Wished I had a pocket full of money...

Jeff,
As always, thanks for the pictures. Did you buy the Roy Rogers Pontiac? Do you need a pistol permit to drive it?:D What did the Italia/Omega go for? Still regret turning one down in 1982 for $4500................................ |
The Italia went for $181.5 thou ! WOW! I looked for one of those a long time ago - really like the looks and the rarity of it. Closest one I got to was a Bronze rust bucket roadster in Detroit. A little too far gone :(
I don't think you can drive the Roy Rogers Bonneville in DC or New York...so I passed on it that, too  Jeff |
Jeff, thanks for sharing the photos and video of Amelia Island 2015.
Did you notice if Geoff Hacker had his "The Chicagoan" car on display? It's a one of three that he was hoping to have restored in time for this year's concours. http://www.forgottenfiberglass.com/w...10/15709/7.jpg |
Jeff -
Pretty sure I saw everything on the field - "The Chicagoan" was not there. Neat car, too bad it didn't make it. Jeff |
CSX 3045 sold in 2013 for $1.825 mil. Way better return than my passbook savings account. A Sunbeam Tiger Mk IA went for $137,500. AHS-3504, one of fifty Austin-Healey 100S factory race cars originally ordered and raced by actor Jackie Cooper went for $1,012,000:
http://i61.tinypic.com/34e439g.jpg I was just speaking to the guy that sold it in 1976 for .... wait for it.... $1,500! I've been to Amelia once, what a show. The perfect antidote for a long, cold, snowy winter. |
