voltage regulator mounting Question

Does it matter if the voltage regulator is mounted on a vertical verses a horizontal surface?

Perhaps a better question is: is there any restrictions or criteria that must be considered when mounting the voltage regulator?

The only restriction would be trying to adhere to originality in mounting.

It is horizontal in my car, on the driver's foot box. I've had it mounted both ways in other cars. Shouldn't matter.

Thanks.

I am moving mine to get it away from the EFI computer. Just wanted to make sure it wouldn't cause a problem.
