Nice car. The price, although way out of my league unless they are offering really flexible financing :roll eyes:, seems pretty fair. It will be interesting to see how long this one stays on the market.

$975!!! WOW... is it really worth that?

I have seen some fully restored 289's in the UK going for that much in the UK..

Brooklyn-427 07-10-2015 05:26 AM

Is there any similar condition Csx3000 cars available for sale ?

1985 CCX 07-10-2015 07:50 AM

They can only be unrestored once...... :MECOOL:

If I were a buyer it would be a leading candidate.
Why?
Unmolested
Original
Paint falling off
My prediction is that cars like this will become more valuable as cars become restored.

As cars get restored parts fall off, get replaced (especially in earlier days) and the originality gets replaced with new. Most folks probably prefer this route however there are enough purists, I am one, that enjoy the old original type hardware.

Peter is a top notch guy and truly a car guy. Highly recommend his company ...............

Its had some things modified from original but if I had the money to spend, I'd buy it in a second.

Nice find. Great patina! I wouldn't touch a thing.
871 miles on the odometer? Wow!!

KarlCSX2498 07-10-2015 11:53 AM

nice 289 Cobra

Hello,
<<<$975!!! WOW... is it really worth that? >>>

That Cobra is worth exactly what someone is willing to pay, so who knows until the sale is done. I think the guys here are correct, nice original car with patina, that car is a bargain.

To me it would be hard to enjoy an original. Restored or not. I want to drive it like it was meant to be driven and I don't think I could abuse an original.

There are plenty of folks, including here that do just that in the historic races and other venues. (No, not me).
Keeps the breed and tradition alive!!

Compare this one to the recently-auctioned CSX 2436 (Gooding's, Scottsdale 2014), which sold for $890,000 plus commission. At least this one runs.

871 miles I doubt that is genuine....

Ron61 08-08-2015 03:43 AM

I would like to have it. I prefer the survivor cars to the ones that are restored to way above what they came from the factory or maker as.

Don't be so sure. There have been a few barn finds that were originally purchased, driven a couple of summers and then just put away and forgotten.

In this case, I highly doubt that the odo has already turned over and if Peter even thought so, he would mention it.

Just my 2 cents...
