Ford Racing 460 Stroker

Looking at the Ford Racing 351/460 stroker. Price and warranty look attractive. Anyone have additional info on this motor as far as reliability and warranty claims? Thanks.

I'm looking at buying this engine too. Interested to hear the reports.

This should make your car a real handful with 575/575. This engine has all the right pieces with a 2yr war besides how can you go wrong. Good Luck.

There are quite a few of us with the 427 fordracing. Yea, it's a good set of parts, but ignore the warranty. They'll make it more of a pain in the ass to collect on than just fixing what's wrong on your own.

They mis informed me about the type of cam and needed gear, and I had to replace the cam at 1200 miles. Running like a scalded assed ape now, but for instance, if you had a leaky oil pan and you wanted any help from them, you would have to got through 10 layers of documentation, then pull the engine and ship it (your expense one way) to them for repairs. At some point, like a rod through the block, that's worth it. For me, the option was pull the engine, ship it to them, let their monkeys fix it, then reinstall, or for the cost of shipping, by my own cam and everything else needed along the way and know it was done right... or at least my way, and much less risk of scratching up the car. For that mater, changing the cam in the car was not that big of a deal other than losing the warranty.

The same can happen with having machine work done in some indies. Once went through a summer dealing with a highly recognized shop having a 454 Chev bored. After two tries and long waits got so disgusted threatened legal action. He finally focused on getting me what I asked for.
