Yeah! it fooled me for sure.
It even has a nice "wear", patina; and it looks like it is raced.

John Horsman is a personal friend of mine and I asked him if JW Racing (Gulf) ever campaigned a Cobra and he said no.

The longer blocks are nicely done - and it looks good on your car.

That GULF Cobra is my friend's RAM in Germany from Cobra-Corner. It IS quick, doing 10.6 et with a fuel injected 428.
He owns it since 1989.

Thank-you for your comments.
To; Dominik: Nice, fast replica. It fooled me for sure.
Maybe it has the wind wings sourced from England.
I have heard on this forum, that those have the longer lower blocks.
To; Larry; thanks for the info! I guess Gulf only raced GT-40's.

Gr40's, Porsche 917's (I think a couple other models too but I never asked) and Mirage's.

There are so many clues to it not being original, but the first one that jumps out at me is the returned edge on the side vents. This is a common feature on many GRP replicas, even though it is easy to fix.
The RAM uses a backbone space-frame chassis and as such has a huge transmission tunnel, which gives the game away straightaway. However, RAM were authorized by Shelby and many of them carry CSX####R chassis numbers, in spite of the fact that AC allocated the original chassis numbers not Shelby.

Shorts caught in the air scoop?
You must be talking about the pic of the replica "GULF" race car with the black cloth in the scoop.
This is a pic that I found on the web.
Your comment was funny, though!
