1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
First post here. Hoping for some help. I have searched and not found an answer. Anyone know the blue paint code for chassis CSX2557? Thanks for any help. |
it's guardsman blue
|
PPG code 12832

Thanks for the help!
Is it a non-metallic? I would have thought that the original cars would have be non-metallic. |
I imagine there is a difference in paint colors when PPG is compared to Limco? Is there an equivalent color in PPG?
If not, I may just use the PPG. Thanks again. |
Most big paint suppliers can translate codes between different manufacturers.

Guardsman was metallic, and yes, there are substantial differences in the color representation between different manufacturers.

Thanks for everyone's help. I have my answer.
I did not know that the originals used a metallic paint. In this case a car from 1964. |
But most likely the metallic used was much finer than what is commonly used now-a-days. Possibly also less content too. It was tough enough spraying single stage metallic lacquer in a shop setting without striping or mottling after sand and buffing - so I'm sure they didn't go overboard with the metallic.
