Visceral Ride
When I drive my cobra what strikes me is how visceral and raw it is. The sensation of speed is amplified with the open cockpit and exhaust.
I was watching this video and it stood out to me how isolated and controlled this appears. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VwS954yn4A"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VwS954yn4A[/ame] It reminds me of the Porsche 991 I sold. You have to be going VERY fast too appreciate you are going fast. |
I am surprised they allowed him on the track without a helmet AND you're right. Too quiet and controlled. Give me the wind, noise, exhaust fumes and the shake of a Cobra any day. Not that I'd turn down a Ferrari, mind you.

Well I'll tell you folks, that there guy was moving pretty damn good in that car and looked smooth to boot. Visceral and loud win very few races & I'd bet few could keep him in sight on that track let alone keep up.
You'd do well to study how fluid this guy moves on that course. |

Had to blow it up to make sure that speedo read in KPH and not MPH.

Agree but our car with belly exhaust and top on makes me the happiest. Always look forward to rowing the gears and working the rubber. Good video. |

I do, howver, think anything that revs to 8500-9000rpm on a regular basis, probably qualifies as visceral.

Ok how about the audio in this video is poor. It does not do justice to the car or the experience.

This thread reminds me that, after you've put a couple of hundred miles on your car, you should take it out to a nice wide open stadium parking lot, with nothing possible to hit, and then experience losing control of the car. Try stomping it hard when you're not pointed straight, go in to some pretend curves and then lift off the throttle as you enter too fast, etc. Doing this sort of stuff can be a real eye opener.
