Will Clutch/Brake fluid damage the clutch.

I have an internal slave cylinder that leaked and I'm guessing it leaked into/onto the clutch plate. Will the clutch plate be damaged as a result of this.

Evidence of the leak was obvious as all the paint was stripped off the clutch pressure-plate housing. And dripping fluid from the bell housing was the next clue and the final was that the car would start to creep forward with the clutch pedal depressed.

I have replaced the internal slave cylinder and the leak has gone away. But now when I accelerate pedal-to-the-metal the clutch has started slipping.

Has anyone experienced this wet clutch problem and did the clutch return to normal after drying out. Or will the fluid soaked clutch now have irreversible damage.

If brake or hydraulic fluid got on the disc and contaminated the friction material, it will not fix itself. The disc will need to be replaced and the pressure plate and flywheel surfaces de-greased.

Else always says to do. Get a disc and clean the rest up.

I'll tell you that external set up I got from Forte is like a toy to work on
If I lost a slave it would be running in 30 mins. Worth a look

Things are getting better!!! I've been hammering the car and the clutch has stopped slipping. :)

Normally once a clutch plate is contaminated from brake fluid, one of a few things occur.

Enough fluid causes it to slip, a small amount may only cause a shudder.

You may be ok, but I would have pulled the pressure plate off for inspection.
