now where did that thread go?
you know, the one about pens and watches...
just picked this back up from the jeweler, I've owned it since 1989. Received it as a graduation gift from my grandmother. I remember thinking that $150 for a pen was insane. (they're currently just under $500). But nana said every businessman needs a good pen to sign contracts. It's pre-serial numbers. I went to put it in my shirt pocket a few months ago and missed, dropping it to the floor and watched a piece of resin fly across the room. Repair was $135 from Mont Blanc http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps1xnseqg9.jpg oh, and I know where the original thread went:LOL: feel free to use this one for anything, or nothing. The "Seinfeld" of threads if you will |
Thankfully it got closed.

Wow, I think I got one of those for some anniversary at DEC. It's sitting on my table right now. This one is a twist top to put the ballpoint. I only recognized it because of the white pattern in the top. It's maroon with Montblanc-Meisterstuk on the ring around the top and my name on the pocket clip. I think there was a felt-tip marker in the set but have no idea where that part is. I'm not a guru, but I nearly tossed this into the trash except it still worked... (and the marker may have been sacrificed).

JoeT...of all days for you to post that (Mont Blanc Classique Rollerball?).
I've got a pretty good collection of Mont Blancs...from a bigassed 149 (the big fountain pen) to several LeGrand models, including a LeGrand Rollerball (same as yours, just a notch bigger for my hand) that I've had and used every day for decades. Best flowing ink of any pen...and I fill legal pads every day. It's taken me through every case and every negotiation. Looked in my briefcase this morning, and it was gone! Retraced my steps from yesterday and hoped it was in the board room of the last client I visited yesterday evening...thankfully, it was. I swear I couldn't keep my mind on work during the early hours this morning until my client's office opened and I could ask someone to check. Glad you got it fixed instead of just replacing it...they are worth it. |
