Valve Lash on a Coast High Performance 427 (SBF Windsor)

Hey all,

Trying to figure out the valve lash setting for my motor. It's a Coast High Performance carbureted motor based on 351 Windsor. Has AFR heads and edelbrock intake. We are removing the heads and trying to anticipate (assuming it's a solid cam) what the valve lash is so we can properly adjust them. If it's a hydraulic cam, the valves get set to 0. Does anyone know if there is a benchmark guide for lash assuming a solid cam?

You would really need the cam specs. Solid rollers can vary in lash from around .016" up to .030", depending on the lobe profile.

No documentation on the engine?

I am going to see if CHP/Probe Industries can provide a build sheet based on the block casting ID.
