A replica is still a replica if it is a FFR or AC or Kirkham or a Shelby . They are all a replica kit of a car that was made in the 60's from a partnership of AC Cars LTD, Shelby American and Ford. I am not saying that replicas are a inferior to the genuine Cobra. Quite the contrary Kirkham/ Shelby have far superior quality and workmanship, and a modern computer designed frame with Corvette suspension and a GM LS engine is a far superior replica/automobile in everyway! But all of the replicas to their owner they are the greatest car in the world. So get in, strap in and let the good times roll!:)

Well said Thor, it is what it is most of us know and understand this to be so true. We all have different needs with so many choices finding the right car should not be a big deal. Those that choose to consider their choice of cars better than others is so wrong. Not a good way at all to promote membership for this forum or any other for that matter.

As a related note, this is a confusing topic for ANYBODY stepping into the Cobra world, and it takes a long time to sort through all the lies and opinions when stepping into this hobby. All you have to do is look at 10-15 random Cobra classified ads on Ebay or Craigslist, whatever...Whether it's an FFR, Shell Valley, CSX, ERA, SPF, or whatever.....I'll bet 90% of those ads are claiming that their Cobra is one of the best, better than the others, the most accurate, etc.... It's daunting for those trying to figure out what they really want in a Cobra.

Certainly is. I have to laugh at myself when I think back on what I initially wanted. Best advice is to take your time and research well.

Agree!

Edited to remove association of one particular ex-member, apparently some friends were offended by the cartoon. I was agreeing with Arvin, Thor maine and mdross1 - any replica is GOOD when it comes to promoting the hobby and this forum. To each his own, it's all good, there is no place for class wars.

This thread was doing so well at remaining civil.

Which Cobra do I like best? Hmmm.

The name of the company escapes me at the momemt, but let me think about it some more and I'll get back to you. The name is right on the tip of my tongue too.

Yes it was. Why do the mods allow him to continue here? Evan got sent to Jail for doing this.

Actually I think Evan received a life sentence without parole the other day. I suspect he has spawned his last brouhaha around here. I won't miss all the drama but it's a shame to lose a knowledgeable enthusiast from the site.

RodKnock 12-02-2015 05:50 PM

While we're "waxing melancholy" about Evan, how about the new OP posting another "What's the best replica?" thread and then checking out?

I mean, really, OY VEY!

But look, we got someone who spawns constant mindless drivel.

But, after a suitable amount of time, and after amassing a demonstrable list of positive acts impacting the Cobra community, it may be possible to petition for reconsideration. Remember, it ain't over 'til it's over, and if you're still breathing, it ain't over. ;)

If Evan is reading this, and it wouldn't surprise me if he was, it would serve him well to calculate how he can show true repentance and a real appreciation for his errant ways. Difficult, but not impossible, by any means.

The point wasn't lost. No one else had gone near the real versus argument. Why did you? I thought that was a banned topic.

Jamo, you might want to tell Tony to tone it down, recall the unsolicited PM?
It seems he has taken over the insults of his banned buddy.
