Uhhh, because it resulted in somebody getting a "time out." Hmmm, let me think back as to who it was....

Bernica 01-23-2016 05:15 PM

Sorry, I will shut up.

mrmustang 01-23-2016 05:32 PM

Here we go again

Bernica 01-23-2016 05:43 PM

A big Yup there! I will refrain best I can....;)

Um, let's just say that there was a guy from Florida claiming to sell aluminum bodied cobras. That guy had multiple personalities and club cobra ids. That guy is permanently banned from club cobra. I have probably said too much. I hope I don't get a timeout for saying that. If I recall correctly, we are not to mention the company's name ever!

The Porsche Spyders must be keeping him busy.%/

I also. Can't find the threads that all of this was discussed but I would not walk, not run, but put your skates 9n warp speed to get away from this guy.

The threads are easy to find, but they are not really worth reading.

On the other hand I think Jamo's summary is worth reading:

Link to Jamo's last posts in one of the threads before closing them down

I'm beginning to doubt that there is any such thing as a new conversation topic on this forum.

Bernica 01-24-2016 05:03 PM

Sure there is. Just take a look at threads like this..

I bet the person who started this thread thought that this might be something new to discuss. How would he know that he was bringing up a horse that has been thoroughly beaten to death.

When this potentially new cobra manufacturer originally came up for discussion that sounded like an exciting new development to discuss. I certainly did not expect the discussion to turn into the mess that it did.

Until a "real" customer actually buys one of these cars and starts a build thread on it here, I don't think that there is any need to talk about the company any more. Based on what has already been discussed I cannot see anyone adding anything new to the discussion about this manufacturer that has not already been said. And if we start repeating the same old discussion on this company I suspect that Jamo is going to close that discussion down and may give time outs as well.

I see where my comment might be interpreted as a dig on the OP. That certainly was not my intent so my apologies. The comment was more about how little fresh information actually appears on the site. Nothing negative really, just a small world. I still prefer repeated conversations over a blanket "do a search and go away" environment.

Edit: Nobody has actually answered Dean's question. The body is made by the seller (?), the frame is Factory Five. Based solely on the single shoulder harness hole in the cockpit sheet metal, I do not believe it is a current chassis (MKIV), but I'll leave it to the experts to say exactly which vintage frame it is.

No offense taken, I just saw this on ebay and thought to myself oh look an alum cobra that's not 150K. I wonder who makes it, that's all.
