FORD 289 SBF ENGINE - where to buy ?

Hi guys,
which vendor is offering a Ford SBF 289 V8 crate engine for a Cobra 289 FIA ? Should be a street engine, not too hot.....What's your experience ?

Thanks,
Stephan

Are you running your engins with a single carb or with a 8stack weber system ?

This might give you a start.

Are you locked on the 289 displacement? If you go up to 302 or other bored variants you open up your choices

Also add to that the Shelby Engine Company but they are very pricey.

I got my 331 stroker from Keith Craft. Very happy with it.

A 302 or 302 stroker can be built to mimic a 289 in appearance. unless you look at casting numbers and some other small items 98% of people would not know the difference.

You can even install the front timing cover with the oil fill tube like early 289s had.

A mild 302 can give you more power and less stress than a 289. That said there is small difference in sound when you go up in displacement.

Do a little googling and don't forget some of the advertisers here, they can provide a nice 289 or 302 that is well built and they will stand behind it.

Danbury Competition Engines in Danbury, Ct. Joe Lapine is the owner and a complete Ford nerd. Has built a 428CJ for me and a bored out 302 for a slab side. Both are real strong and solid. His prices are competitive. Good luck

You can't go wrong with Brent Lykins.
