Is The Series One Cobra Back?

Ran across this and hard to read between the lines if this is a serious consideration by Ford or just a writer's opinion.

Does anyone know if it's coming back? This time without the little Buick motor it had before?

Why Ford Needs To Turn Its 645 Horsepower Concept Into A Corvette Competitor

Just wishful thinking...

While they're not perfect sportcars by any stretch, Jaguar's F-type, Aston Martin's Vantage and even the Miata ND (4th Gen) look better sculpted than Ford's concept car that you've linked.

Agreed. The Series One was a nice design many years ago but doesn't keep up with what many others have done. Only thing "maybe" going for it is the styling cues from a Cobra. But I don't think that will pull it off.

They are way behind on coming up with something to compete with the latest Corvette IMHO. The 'Vette has been refined, tested and pretty well proven in their market niche. And that's from someone with no love for GM!;)

A little know fact on the Shelby Series I 's: In their last iteration, as the law suites flew around.. Multimatic did the final chassis sorting of the cars. They never did received full payment, and believe they got stung hard.

Same Multimatic assembling the new 2017 FGT-

(Hope they don't hold a grudge  )
