Excited to get a new set of Halibrands replica knockoffs from Vintage Wheels. Stoked on the overall quality and look of the wheels. My son and I got the spinner adapters on tonight and tomorrow I get to have the tires mounted. Super excited to have the car closer to the way I've imagined it since I was 10. Just had to share 😊

Loks really nice! You will be happy with them. Make sure to use a light coat of anti-seize on the pins, the threaded surface for the spinner and any other steel surface that will come in contact with the wheel. Otherwise, you will have a difficult time getting those wheels off next year. Take them off once a year, clean them, recoat them and put them back on and you will be good to go. Get a god lead hammer and remember, tight ass (tighten towards the rear of the car).

The most important surface to coat with anti-seize is the beveled surface of the spinner and the mating surface of the wheel. This is the contact point that will gall and seize without the coating.

Great improvement, Springbok!

Vintage Wheels are every bit as good as Trigo (;)) and Bob's gold centered wheels, both in polished and sandblasted rims, look much nicer IMO than Trigo's "all one color" options.

Looks Great! You will be thoroughly enjoyed with the improvement. Now you get to explain to others what a knock-off is!

Oops, just noticed. You forgot the safety wire! Drill a small hole in one wing of each spinner and run some safety wire around a spoke (you can cover the wire with a piece of rubber tubing so that it does not mar the wheel) and through the hole in the spinner. Do not tighten it fully, leave a little slack so that you will know if the spinner is starting to loosen. If you notice that the wire is tight later, then you know that you need to tighten the spinner again.

Its not in the photo but I have it on there now. I had the clip on there that it came with, wanted to drive it first, retighten and then add the safety wire.

Great looking wheels and you cannot beat Bob's quality and customer service.

Hope you made sure that the pin collars are fully seated and that the wheel studs are not too long. (voice of experience).

The wheels were seated. Bob has supplied Pacific Roadsters with these wheels many times before so he knew my exact spec. I currently have drums in the rear so the bolts were too long, I just cut them shorter so I could torque the wheel studs.

Out of curiosity, what is the back spacing/dimensions on the new wheels? I am presuming that the Torq-Thrusts were 15 inch with 4" back spacing.

The Torq Thrust wheels were 4". I didn't ask Bob what the backspacing was on the new wheels but I am assuming its 3.5" to make up for the thickness of the knockoff adapter which is .5".

Springbok, glad you caught the long studs on the rear. Those are the ones I had issues with on my JAG IRS. Fortunately, I didn't bugger up the wheel beyond a little dressing with a file.

Enjoy your wheels and don't spare the never seize.

Same here . Then I tried to cut the studs barely short enough for the pins to torque down - except a couple were cut slightly unlevel and the high part bottomed on the pin and caused the stud to bend slightly when torqued making the wheel hard to mount. Fortunately, I quickly figured that one out and everything was fine with a bit of filing of the stud end.
